As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of software installations, ensuring custom configurations align with project specifications. You will keep both internal and external stakeholders informed on project progress, acting as the vital link between developers, configuration teams, and hardware/network installation teams.     • Manage and assist testing of facilities and tooling to conform to mechanical design specifications. Identify non-conformances and establish root cause.
  • Personnel Development:

    • Install facilities on site if and when required

Basic Requirements:

  • Formal Tertiary education: Qualified Artisan (Tool Maker/Turner machinist),
  • Experience:
    • 2 – 5 years after qualified within the machining / tool making environment.
    • Must have had raw material handling experience
    • Worked manual lathe machines
    • Job planning experience
    • Read mechanical manufacturing drawings
  • Work accurate and to deadlines
  • Languages:
    • English – Read, write and speak (required)
    • Afrikaans – Read, write and speak (optional)
  • Drivers Licence: Code 8- (required)


Job Objectives:

  • The Successful Incumbent (Toolmaker, Fitter and Turner, Turner Machinist), must be competent in reading mechanical drawings, actual planning and completion of the task as set out on the aforesaid drawing
  • Be responsible for operating the Manual Lathes, for all components to be manufactured
  • He must maintain quality as well as tolerances as stipulated for all tasks assigned to him and complete tasks as per project timing requirement.

Requirements and Experiences:

  • 5 Years’ experience in a Jendamark Related mechanical industry/ working environment
  • Experience in testing of tooling, sub-assemblies and complete facilities to ensure it meets project, marketing, safety, product and customer requirements
  • Experience in fault finding and its root cause identification, in the mechanical industry and on Jendamark-related facilities
  • Comprehensive experience with mechanical assembly hand tools
  • Comprehensive experience with all relevant measuring, levelling and alignment equipment
  • Comprehensive experience in measuring and alignment procedures of various applications within the machine assembly process
  • Experience and ability to read and interpret details and requirements from mechanical design drawings, and from mechanical soft-copy designs.

 

Job Objectives:

  • To assemble special purpose machinery as per the design requirement using accurate and concise assembly techniques in order to achieve the required assembly tolerance
  • To functional test special purpose machinery to ensure the machine meets the design requirements as planned.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Time Management:
    • Assemble facilities on time as per project requirement
    • Acknowledge and accommodate the requirements to have to work additional hours to achieve project milestones
  • Quality Management:
    • Understand and comprehend facility purpose and objectives.
    • Comprehensively read, understand and transform Mechanical designs into assembled functional machines/facilities, exercising and applying mechanical knowledge and best assembly practises achieve high accuracy as per drawing specifications
    • Correctly identifying components for the purpose of the assembly application
    • Work together with Mechanical and Control System Engineers to achieve facilities functional requirements
    • Manage and assist testing of facilities and tooling to conform to mechanical design specifications. Identify non-conformances and establish root cause.
  • Personnel Development:
    • Liaise confidently and constructively with specialist consultants e.g. Design Consultants/Suppliers
    • Install facilities on site if and when required
    • To operate within the safety regulations of the company/OSH ac
    • Exercising and maintaining high standards in: housekeeping, organizing and controlling issued parts and drawings.
    • To comply with ISO procedures
    • Related JMS-system updates
