I started paying more attention to how decisions are made, how risk is managed, and what actually drives performance day to day, not just what looks good in a plan. I’m not the guy doing everything myself anymore. My focus now is on setting direction, making sure we’re clear on what matters, and backing the team to deliver. Sometimes that means stepping in. Often it means stepping back. I still think in a structured way. I still care about KPIs. I still enjoy solving technical problems when I get the chance. But I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about creating the environment where good people can do their best work.
